Dimitar Berbatov offered an insight into the lifestyle of Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing that he had never seen the former Manchester United man drink alcohol.
In 2008/09, Ronaldo and Berbatov spent a season at Old Trafford together, winning the Premier League and reaching the final of the Champions League.
Prior to joining Juventus in 2018, Ronaldo, who is regarded as one of the greatest to have ever played the game, then transferred to Real Madrid.
And the commitment Ronaldo had when it came to exercising and caring for his body opened up to Berbatov.
Berbatov said to Marca, “I was a fortunate guy to share the season together.”
“He has taken extreme care of himself. You went to the train and he was in the gym already. Then he will remain on track to do extra work shooting.
He was going to finish, and he was going to go swimming and return to the gym. He was determined to be the best.
It was like a battle to practice with him so I didn’t care of anything but winning anything, even the little games that we arranged.
But that’s not bad – on the contrary. He was a good boy, Cristiano, who strengthened the team’s competitive atmosphere.
“He was fun and caring. The players had a nice time at the Christmas parties, but they were really professional. And in those days, I never saw him drink.
Ronaldo had said earlier about his regime: “To get the most out of training, proper sleep is truly important.”
I go to bed early, particularly before matches, and get up early. Sleep helps recover the muscles, which is very important.
Just as important as physical strength is mental strength. The most important thing is fitness and physical sessions, but living a comfortable lifestyle allows you to be the best you can be, physically and mentally.
“I spend my free time with family and friends, which keeps me relaxed and in a positive mindset.”
