According to Goal, Mohamed Salah was named as the recipient of the December 2020 Liverpool Player of the Month award.
Last month, for the Reds, the fleet-footed forward delivered sparkling results, scoring six goals in eight appearances, among other spectacular displays.
The outstanding performances of the Egypt international supported the men of Jurgen Klopp to their present fourth place on the Premier League table.
After being unanimously elected as the club’s best player for the month, the 28-year-old was praised for his eye-catching displays.
To win the individual accolade, Salah saw off competition from Brazil’s Fabinho duo and Roberto Firmino.
The forward expressed his gratitude to the fans of the Reds for selecting him as their best player and hopes to continue for the rest of the season with his fine displays.
“Thank you very much. It’s nice, but we just need to win a few of the coming games,” Salah told the website of the club.
At the moment, the situation is not perfect, but we just have to concentrate on each game and stay together and carry on.
“I want to thank them [the fans] very much and tell them thank you very much for voting for me. We just need to stay together, supporting the team, and I’m sure everything is going to be fine.”
Since teaming up with AS Roma’s Anfield outfit in the summer of 2017, Salah has been performing spectacularly.
Ever since joining Liverpool, the forward has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice and played a crucial role as the club won the Champions League and Premier League titles.
In the current campaign, Salah has scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.
When Liverpool take on Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup tie on Sunday, the forward will be required to deliver another fine result.
Salah will be hoping to help the Reds see off Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League match on January 28 after the Cup clash.
