After failing to win any of his 10 Bundesliga games in charge, Manuel Baum was sacked by Schalke.
In September, the 41-year-old was brought in to replace former Huddersfield manager David Wagner, who went without a win in 18 matches and lost his job. Baun did nothing to alter the fortunes of Schalke and only stretched their winless matches to 28.
The Royal Blues lost faith with Baum, who failed to win a Bundesliga match in 10 attempts after a 0-2 loss against Freiburg in mid-week.
“The home game against Arminia Bielefeld is hugely important for our club. The disappointing performance against SC Freiburg showed us that the side requires new impetus to be successful in this game. We trust Huub Stevens and Mike Büskens to do exactly that. We thank Manuel Baum for his tireless work and wish him both personally and professionally the best for the future,”
In 28 league games, Schalke are winless and remain at the bottom of the table with just four points after 12 games.
