Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, says the abductors have reached out to the government of the 333 students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, and that the conversation was already about the safe return of the students.
When he met President Buhari in Daura to brief him on the progress being made in retrieving the abducted students, the governor disclosed this.
The Governor was accompanied by Manir Yakubu, the state’s Deputy Governor.
A statement released by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, quotes the governor as saying that progress is being made.
“We are making progress and the outlook is positive,” the Governor said to the press.
Governor Masari also noted that the children’s positions were located by security agencies.
The Governor claimed that the President was completely committed to the rescue of school children, adding that meeting the President and giving him further details of the rescue efforts were only fitting.
