Yusuf Bichi, Director-General of the Department of State Services, has called on Nigerians to stop tackling and blaming security agencies for the country’s increased insecurity.
Bichi, who said this at the Security and Emergency Awards (SEMA 2020), said that citizens’ support is particularly relevant in the field of intelligence gathering.
We call on Nigerians to support government and security agencies. Security is no longer for government and security agencies; collaborative efforts and partnerships are needed.
You continue to stay in your comfort zones and continue to blame all security agencies, but did you bring it with the information that the security agencies need?
All those terrible people are members of our communities; they live in our communities. If you realize one, tell the security agencies about him. If you’ve not done all these, it’s time for us to have a rethink; it’s time for us to have a change of mind to recommit ourselves to the ideologies of building a country that is devoid of any insecurity.
