Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, has stated that rebellion and terrorism may continue for another 20 years in Nigeria.

A few days after Boko Haram massacred rice farmers in Borno State, Buratai made the remark on his checked Facebook account.

Around 110 rice farmers in Zabarmari, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, were decapitated by Boko Haram.

Buratai observed, however, that Nigerians usually lack what is meant by insurgency and terrorism.

There is a general misconception of what insurgency and terrorism mean, according to the Army boss. There is a chance that terrorism will continue for another 20 years in Nigeria.

“Responsibility for people is equally important and imperative. To control the remaining insecurity, everyone must cooperate. Let collective action and accountability take place.
