The State House Permanent Secretary, Tijani Umar, has said that the N1.3 billion budgeted for the State House Clinic is too small.
State House Permanent Secretary Tijani Umar presented a budget of N19.7 billion for 2021 at a budget defense session on Thursday, 5 November, out of which N1.3 billion was proposed for the Villa Clinic.
In response to the proposal, the Senate panel chairman, Senator Danjuma Lah, said the committee would approve the State House Clinic budget, but insisted that his government’s president and other top officials should no longer be flown overseas for medical treatment.
“Later in the day, during an interview with journalists, Umar, who promised to put in place the necessary arrangements to meet the president’s and other top officials’ medical needs once the budget was approved, said, “The N1.3 billion is absolutely insufficient when you juxtapose the amount proposed, the workforce, and the status of the directors that the project will serve.
He compared the amount proposed for the Villa Clinic in the budget with “worldwide standards” and said the budget for the Villa Clinic was inadequate.
