According to a post from Max Jambor at Voice, the OnePlus 9 Pro is rumored to feature quicker 45W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging to fill up accessories such as wireless headphones.
The OnePlus 8 Pro was the very first wireless charging system to feature the OnePlus, but it was limited to 30W. A bump of up to 45W would be a notable improvement and could make charging speeds even faster than the 50 percent charge of the 8 Pro in 30 minutes.
According to 9to5Google, faster wireless charging might also mean that the OnePlus 9 Pro could feature the OnePlus 8T’s 65W wired charging.
However, if other flagship features such as an enhanced monitor and 5G support drain the battery faster than before, OnePlus decides to boost charging, it may theoretically be useful.
A first for OnePlus will be reverse wireless charging on the OnePlus 9 Pro.
Several flagship Android phones have adopted the feature over the last few years, from the Battery Share of the Pixel 5 to Wireless PowerShare on the Galaxy S20 line.
Reverse wireless charging will probably be slower than what you will get from a wired link, like these phones, but it’s still a convenient OnePlus feature to have.
The rest of the OnePlus Pro 9 remains a mystery, but pictures and specifications for an OnePlus 9 prototype have leaked, giving us a pretty good idea of the new line’s key features.
A 120Hz display, a Snapdragon 888 processor, and a 4,500mAh battery are just some notable ones. Look out for more leaks and rumors as we get closer to the newest phones from OnePlus’ planned spring launch.
