UNILAG confirms January 25 as the school’s resumption date


The University of Lagos has announced the date of its re-opening. Mrs. Olufadeke Akinleye, Head of the University Media Unit, said on Wedneaday, 13 January, that due to the second wave of COVID-19, the institution will launch online classes on 25 January.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Abdullahi Abdullahi, Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications.

The statement reads:’ A revised Academic Calendar for 2019/2020 University Session has been considered and approved by the Senate of the University of Jos.

At its 4th Special Meeting for the 2019/2020 Term, held on Monday 11 January 2021, the Senate decided that students could restart the 2019/2020 Session with the reopening of the various university campuses from Friday 22 January 2021 onwards.

“According to the amended Academic Calendar, lectures would continue as from Monday, 25th January 2021.”
