Manchester United may win the Premier League title this season, according to club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite the club’s inconsistent start to the season and exclusion from the UEFA Champions League.
On Saturday, the Red Devils take on Manchester City at Old Trafford – just days after RB Leipzig’s disappointing 3-2 loss eliminated them from the Champions League.
Tottenham and home defeats against Arsenal and Crystal Palace have suffered a 6-1 loss this season United, but will gi within two points of league leaders Tottenham if they manage to get the victory against Manchester City.
United have won their last four Premier League games, with three of those wins coming on the road after going back, and Solskjaer believes that his squad can be a title contender.
“At Manchester United, you should always aim to win trophies,” Solskjaer said.
Of course, as they have been for the last three seasons, there are two teams well ahead of the rest of the pack.
During the season, or after the turn of the new year, I have been persuaded that this team is improving and that we can put up with a challenge.
We need to build on last season of course, but I don’t think any team can run away with it.
I’m going into every single game that I want to win, so maybe that’s the answer to your question. You end up with a trophy if you win every game.
