United defender, Timothy Fosu-Mensah completes permanent move to Bayer Leverkusen

Timothy Fosu-Mensah, the Manchester United defender, has completed his move to Bayer Leverkusen for £ 1.8 million.

Since making his first start as a substitute in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in February 2016, the 23-year-old defender leaves Old Trafford immediately making 30 first-team appearances over the past six and a half seasons.

The Dutch international has decided on a deal with the German club until 2024, which is currently third in the Bundesliga table.

‘Timothy is a technically talented, quick, and physically powerful defender who can be used in the center as a right-back as well,’ said Simon Rolfes, sporting director of Leverkusen.

“In the last few days I’ve talked a lot with the coach, and conversations with Simon Rolfes and Rudi Voller have convinced me that there are great prospects in Leverkusen,”  Fosu-Mensah said.

“Both for me personally and for us as a team. That will be really exciting.”
