Sani Aliyu, National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID19, says January 18 remains the date for school resumption and it will only modify after the Federal Government’s review.
Notice that on Monday, January 11, after the second wave of COVID19, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said that the Federal Government would revisit the earlier date set for the resumption of schools across Nigeria on January 18.
This was perceived by many to indicate that the deadline for resumption was shifted.
Nevertheless, in an interview with TVC on January 12, Aliyu said that the date for the resumption was not altered.
As for college, I just want to make a case. What the minister said yesterday was that it was going to be reviewed, and he didn’t say it was going to alter the date. He said they were going to review the situation and let the country know.
Thus, it is indeed January 18th for the moment before the Ministry of Education comes back either with an alternate date or reconfirms that, he said.
