US Election: Joe Biden receives more votes than any other candidate in US history

Joe Biden has made history as he has now secured more votes for a president compared to any other candidate in US election history as the former US Vice President and Democratic challenger in the US 2020 presidential election.

He officially exceeded the 2008 popular vote of former President Barack Obama at about 8 a.m. US time on Wednesday, November 4.

According to the Associated Press, Biden has a running total of 69,629,972, with some states yet to be completely counted. Trump has exceeded the tally he reached against Hillary Clinton in 2016 as well.

With 69,498,516, which was the highest ever registered, former President Barack Obama won in 2008.

Biden was given a slim lead in those states by a late burst of votes in Michigan and Wisconsin.
