After transmitting the disease to her daughter and husband, a Japanese woman who had tested positive for the coronavirus killed herself.
The woman in her 30s was found dead last Friday in her Tokyo flat, where, after contracting Covid-19, she was self-isolating. She’d been asymptomatic.
According to local media citing reports, the Japanese woman stayed with her husband and daughter who have both tested positive for the disease.
The woman wrote in a note she left behind, ‘it is inexcusable that I have become a nuisance,’ and blamed herself for contracting the virus from her daughter.
She also said she felt guilty for causing people around her to have trouble.
During the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than two million individuals globally, health professionals have reportedly called for necessary mental treatment for individuals who are self-isolated at home.
The news comes as the number of individuals in Japan taking their own lives has increased.
