The Medium, Bloober Team’s new horror release, has been postponed. On December 10th, the studio had expected to release Xbox Series X and Series S exclusive consoles. If you have been following the progress of Cyberpunk 2077, you will understand that it is the day that CD Projekt Red plans to release its new RPG, given that the game is not delayed again.

By name, Bloober Team did not mention Cyberpunk 2077, but it seems clear that when it wanted to push its game, the new project from its fellow Polish developer was top of mind. It wasn’t an easy choice to make, but one made because of the situation of COVID-19 in Poland, as well as the current business schedule for other games, “the studio said.” It says it is now planning on launching The Medium on 28 January 2021.
Bloober Team is not the first developer to shift the release date of its new Cyberpunk 2077 game to prevent it, either. In October, Everspace 2 was postponed by Rockfish Games to stop the behemoth of CD Projekt. That point was more explicit. “We are conscious that Everspace 2 fans will be disappointed, but competing with the potentially most awaited video game in history is just not a good idea,” the studio said at the time.
